“Ukrainian Language and Literature and English Language” is a combined-type educational and professional program that, on the one hand, is oriented toward preparing students for teaching careers, and on the other hand, provides knowledge, practical skills, and competencies for working as translators in various institutions. Within the program, students gain knowledge in Ukrainian language and literature, as well as in English language and the theory and practice of translation. The multidisciplinary nature of the program contributes to the expansion and consolidation of professional skills both as a teacher and as a translator, not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

During their studies, students acquire the following professional competencies: the ability to use knowledge about language as a special sign system, its nature, functions, and levels, as well as knowledge of the theory and history of the languages being studied, in professional activity; to analyze dialectal and social varieties of the Ukrainian language and describe the sociolinguistic situation; to freely, flexibly, and effectively use the studied languages in oral and written forms, across various genres, styles, and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral) to solve communicative tasks in different spheres of life; to understand the principles and technologies of creating texts of various genres and styles in the state and foreign language(s); and to master modern methods of teaching in secondary education, among other skills.

Document on Previous Level of Education Obtained and Entrance Examinations for International Applicants:

Examination in the language of instruction (Ukrainian or English language);
Mathematics examination;
World History examination;
Foreign language examination (English, German, French, Spanish).
