The Department of Theoretical and Applied Computer Science, in cooperation with the Department of Fundamental Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, is launching enrollment for a new interdisciplinary master’s program “Data Science.” This educational program represents a synergy of fundamental mathematics and computer science, offering a combination of theoretical mathematical topics and practical skills in the field of computer science. Admission to the Data Science master’s program is a good decision, especially in today’s world, where data analytics plays a key role in many areas.

Why mathematics is critically important in Data Science: it is the foundation of many algorithms and methods used in data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. It helps to understand how models work—for example, how the result changes when model parameters are adjusted; to evaluate model quality using metrics, errors, and probabilities; to choose appropriate methods for different types of data and tasks; and to optimize the model training process, for example through gradient descent, which is based on derivatives.

Умови для вступу

Previous educational qualification required: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree.

Entrance examinations for international applicants:

Language of instruction examination (Ukrainian or English language);
Professional entrance examination in the chosen field of study.
